"We had Declan in to speak to all school staff In St. Patrick’s as part of our mental health and well being strategy recently. Declan promised it would be “life-changing” and he certainly did not disappoint us. His simply strategies and the charismatic delivery of his material had an immense impact on the whole school community. Declan’s message of personal choice, Green Platform thinking and positive self-talk resonated with so many staff, both on a personal and a professional level.

Green Platform vocabulary is now beginning to appear in class displays, personal development materials and target setting sheets. The phrase “Green Platform “can be heard on the corridors frequently. As a school we are focussing on our “signature strengths” and are deliberately practising catching our students being good. We are “treasure hunting” and have found ourselves being much more mindful, appreciative and compassionate towards ourselves and the whole school community.

Staff have also spoken about how much of Declan’s personal story resonated with them and how they are using his strategies in their home lives and interactions with their own families. One staff member talked of having been “Declan-ed” when praised for his calm response (using his white space) to a crisis! We cannot recommend Declan and his transformative message strongly enough and as a school we look forward to inviting him to speak again soon to students and parents."

"Poulin Grain began its voyage to the Green Platform in May, 2012. I remember Declan being recommended by a supplier friend who had worked with Andec for years. Honestly, I was thinking this was very much like the other training programs we had had over nearly 20 years, that we would gain some new perspective and maybe 1 or 2 ideas that we could utilize on Monday. We soon figured out that there was something very different about this journey and that it was a life altering opportunity.

Declan began his presentation with the title “Achieving Personal and Team Excellence”. This sounded so familiar. The major difference wasn’t the title, it was that Declan doesn’t just tell a good story, he shares wisdom and compassion such that we all feel the ability to join the Green Platform, a Platform of positive thinking, a Platform of health -- spiritually, mentally and physically. Declan is undoubtedly not only “talking the talk, he is walking the walk”. He is one of the world’s great and exceptional people.

Declan helps us to understand that we are truly the ones responsible for our own happiness and success. There are way too many things that Declan has connected with, with each and every one of us, to write in this short note.
